Top honors go to a select group of small businesses in the Fort Worth area that have demonstrated “Best Practices” of entrepreneurship, such as sound business planning, fiscal responsibility and innovation in operating their business. This event features the Tarrant County Judge who over sees the Commissioners Court, the central governing body of the county. Serving a population of over 1.8 million people, the Tarrant County Judge plays an integral role in the DFW regional approach to infrastructure needs and air quality, as well as overseeing the Courts administration of setting the tax rate and budget. A biannual reception and/or breakfast held in the spring during the Texas legislative session which features briefings by Texas Senators and Representatives at the Texas Capitol in Austin.
