Tim Keleher and Dennis Kearns, BNSF, present Secretary of State Roger Williams with a reproduction of a lithograph created in 1876 by D.D. Morse titled Fort Worth, Tarrant Co. Texas. It is a ‘perspective map’ of the area, used prior to aerial view photographs taken from airplanes. The original print was donated to the Amon Carter in 1972.
From Feb. 18-May 28, 2006, a special exhibit titled Patterns of Progress: Bird¹s Eye Views of Texas will be at the Amon Carter, sponsored by BNSF. More than 70 highly detailed and oversized prints from the late 19th and early 20th centuries will offer a fascinating chronicle of one of the greatest periods of urban growth in Texas history.
