With a thriving, diverse business environment, Fort Worth has become a major center for industry, technology, distribution and transportation. In fact, Fort Worth was recently named as the Nation's 5th Best City for Jobs, according to a national ranking by Forbes.
Recent developments in Fort Worth include:
- Q-Edge, an electronics assembly company, plans to bring 500 new jobs to Fort Worth in the coming months. The company is leasing 365,440 square feet at Hillwood's Alliance Gateway 2 building. The assembly and distribution operation has an estimated economic impact of $700 million.
- DriveTime Auto Sales recently selected Fort Worth as the site of its newest call center. The company will lease approximately 31,000 square feet at 15001 FAA Blvd., in CentrePort Business Park. DriveTime anticipates bringing more than 100 jobs to the region.
- Vetoquinol USA has shifted its New Jersey operations to an industrial park building at 4250 N. Sylvania Ave., making Fort Worth its U.S. headquarters. Employment at this facility will be just under 100.
- Cook Children's Hospital broke ground on a $250 million, 540,000 square-foot expansion that will nearly double the size of the medical center campus in Fort Worth. This expansion will be the largest in Cook Children's history and is expected to be completed in 2011.
- The Carnegie Building, a 16-story Class A office tower is expected to be completed this December in Downtown Fort Worth. This building will feature 300,000 square-feet of office space with the first floor reserved for retail space.
- Carter Distribution Center, Fort Worth's newest master-planned industrial park, broke ground on Phase I of the 800 acre development in January. Once completed this rail-served industrial park will have over 15-million square-feet of development.
