Housing opportunities are plentiful in Fort Worth, from wide-open ranch homes to exciting high-rise condos and everything in between.

Housing starts continue at a rapid pace, with 7,393 new home building permits granted by the City of Fort Worth in 2003, and 11,065 permits granted in 2004. Tarrant County was one of the top 10 counties in the country with increases in housing units between April 1, 2000, and July 1, 2003, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Large-scale, quality housing developments are popping up all over as well. Master-planned communities like Walsh Ranch, Circle T and Heritage are a few of these projects currently under way.

Downtown itself is experiencing a residential renaissance, with thousands of new residents expected to relocate to the city's center in the coming years. The most notable new project is the remarkable transformation of the former Bank One Tower into The Tower, a 37-story luxury condominium building. Numerous other conversions are taking place all over downtown, many involving historic Fort Worth landmarks. Among these are conversions of the Neil P. Anderson Building, Texas & Pacific Terminal, Tandy Center, Transport Life Building, Flatiron Building and many others.

Additionally, new construction continues unabated, with properties such as Pecan Place, Le Bijou, Cotton Depot Apartments, The Versailles and Hillside Apartments already completed or under construction. Several other notable projects are also in the works, including The Cassidy, a 22-story residential tower, and Trinity Bluffs, a 1,500-unit residential and mixed-use project along the Trinity River.
