Fort Worth offers individuals and businesses four airports with up-to-date renovations accommodating both goods and passengers. Bordering Fort Worth is one of the world’s preeminent airports, Dallas-Fort Worth International. And, Alliance Airport in Fort Worth is the world’s first purely industrial-use airport. DFW International Airport remains a major catalyst for the Dallas-Fort Worth economy, generating $14.3-billion annually for North Texas. Located halfway between Fort Worth and Dallas, DFW International Airport is the world’s third busiest airport, offering nearly 2,000 flights per day. A truly world-class international hub, DFW International Airport employs 268,500 workers full-time and serves more than 59 million travelers a year. A major hub for American Airlines, DFW offers direct flights to nearly all major U.S. destinations.
DFW also is a major cargo and shipping center, with an average of 740,000 tons of cargo passing through the airport each year. More than 60 percent of all cargo in Texas is handled at DFW, which can reach more than 50-million consumers within 24 hours by truck.
2005 marks the end of a five-year, $2.7-billion Capital Development Program, which includes the new International Terminal D, Grand Hyatt Hotel, Skylink automated people mover system, and airfield and roadway improvements.
The International Terminal D is a 2-million-square-foot terminal capable of handling 32,000 passengers daily or 11.7-million passengers annually. Passengers will find amenities such as two 40,000-square-foot concession villages, two children’s play areas, business and conference facilities, lounges and an 8,100-space parking garage.

Alliance Airport |

Established in 1988 and located 16 miles north of downtown Fort Worth, Alliance Airport is quickly becoming the world’s leading industrial airport with intermodal access. The facility features a 9,600-foot runway, soon to be extended to 13,000-feet. The two-phase project will allow loaded and fully fueled aircraft to fly nonstop to the most remote airports in Europe and Asia from AllianceTexas.
With direct rail and interstate access, more than 150,000 tons of cargo pass through Alliance each year. Both international and domestic air freight companies utilize the strategic advantages of Fort Worth Alliance Airport, including BNSF’s multimillion-dollar intermodal facility, the FedEx Southwest Regional Sorting Hub, immediate access to NAFTA highway, Foreign Trade Zone #196 and U.S. Customs clearance 24/ 7/ 365.

Meacham Airport |

Fort Worth Meacham International Airport is located six miles northwest of downtown, providing maintenance and fueling facilities and flight schools.
Phazar Flight Support will spend up to $6.6-million building new hangers and a fixed-base operation. Meacham Development L.L.C. just completed a $6.3-million project establishing two identical 25,000-square-foot storage and maintenance hangers with office space.

Spinks Airport |

Located in south Fort Worth, near the Tarrant-Johnson county line, Spinks Airport offers general aviation services and private aircraft hangers on 822 acres. The airport is also constructing 259,000-square-feet of new facilities on nearly six acres, including a $3.2-million, 6,000-square-foot executive terminal and two box hangers.
