As disastrous flooding in the Houston area continues this week, many of our members have asked how they can help and what Fort Worth and the Chamber are doing from a business standpoint.
Of course, the immediate need is for aid to those seeking shelter. The City of Fort Worth has created this website fwhelpforharvey.com with recommendations for donations and volunteering.
We also know that many of our member companies will be conducting their own efforts to collect food, clothing, monetary donations. If your company has an effort you would like to share with the public, please login to our Member Information Center and post it on our online news release page or event calendar. This will be automatically shared on Twitter and LinkedIn to the Chamber’s 15,000+ followers. (Andra Bennett or Stephanie Grant for assistance.)
We have also been reaching out to our local member companies with Houston-area offices to determine their needs, and in contact with other chambers of commerce in the disaster area to offer help as soon as they determine what their business needs will be.
Our thoughts, prayers and hearts go out to those of you with family and friends who have been affected by this storm. Please let us know if there are any other ways the Fort Worth Chamber can support.
Chamber member, Falcon Steel, converted their fabrication facility into a receiving/distribution center.
Volunteers sort through countless bags of clothing donations at Falcon Steel in effort to help displaced Hurricane Harvey victims.
