Pepper Sims, owner of Pepper-L Specialties, received Ambassador of the Year for 2018, an honor based on the number of points earned for attending Ambassador events.

“I feel so honored to have received this award that acknowledges all the time and dedication an individual has given to the Ambassador program,” said Pepper, whose company produces branded promotional products. “When I first joined the Chamber 20-plus years ago, I was told one of the best ways to get involved in the Chamber and grow my business was to become an Ambassador.

“The Ambassador program has enabled me to serve on many of the Chamber committees and eventually take on leadership roles in a Leads group, Action Ambassadors and Southwest Area Council, which allowed me to be on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Chamber.

“Being an Ambassador, you are pretty much the face of the Chamber since we do the ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings, as well as being greeters at events among other volunteer opportunities.  We are usually the first people new members will meet after they join. I really enjoy meeting all the new members, helping them to find ways to get involved with the Chamber and help them grow their businesses. I am a firm believer in paying it forward.”

The Chamber is looking for more Action Ambassadors. Contact VP of Investor Relations Beth Pulliam for more information.
