Small Business & Entrepreneur Support

Small Business Committee

This group of volunteers provides guidance to Chamber staff and stakeholders in areas of content, programming, and resources.

Industry Sectors & Summits

Recognizing the fact that one size does NOT fit all, we created small business Industry sectors.  These sectors allow us to produce and present programming with industry-specific content in mind.  Sector summits are held twice each year and allow investors to connect with industry peers while learning best practices from renowned subject matter experts.

  • Consumer/Retail - storefronts, restaurants, consumer service companies
  • Professional Services - firms, practices and consultants (i.e. banks, law firms)
  • Start-ups - companies in existence for fewer than three years (without regard to industry)
  • Manufacturing / Distribution - companies that produce or distribute goods (i.e. food processors, part makers, logistics)
  • Technology - companies with a focus on technology (i.e. software design, IT)
Cohort Program

As part of our continuing effort to engage start-ups and non-traditional businesses, we launched a cohort program in 2019. The cohort program offers unique programming, leadership connections, and expanded network engagement to first-time Chamber investors – all at a discounted fee.  Cohort content will include invitation–only meetings with leading civic and/or business stakeholders (i.e. Chamber/City leaders and influencers).

Small Business of the Year

Developed to highlight and promote some of the amazing small businesses affiliated with the Chamber, the Small Business of the Year Award program occurs each winter. Category finalists are named at the all-new annual Forte Awards Night event and the overall winner is announced at one of our flagship events, the Mayor’s State of the City address.
