The Fort Worth Chamber Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) committee is designed to assist local businesses thrive & expand in Fort Worth. While attracting businesses from outside the community & encouraging new business start-ups are important components of any economic development strategy, research shows that up to 80% of new jobs are created by existing businesses.
OVERALL STRATEGIES INCLUDE:
- Building relationships with business owners and/or plant managers of Fort Worth employers
- Regularly collecting company & industry data
- Analyzing & tracking collected data to identify and address challenges
- Identifying opportunities to grow businesses in Fort Worth
THROUGH THE COMMITTEE'S EFFORTS, WE HOPE TO:
- Demonstrate the FWC's appreciation of existing businesses’ contribution to the local economy
- Encourage expansion that leads to sustainable job growth
- Assist existing businesses in problem solving to address challenges
- Increase awareness of Fort Worth business resources
- Develop collaborative relationships for participating in comprehensive long-range BR&E activities
- Build community capacity & cooperation to sustain growth & development activities
- Provide information & understanding to community leaders on strengths & weaknesses of business climate
- Deliver value to Fort Worth businesses
As a committee member, I commit to:
- Attend 70% of the monthly BR&E meetings (1.5-hour meetings)
- Conduct five monthly BR&E conversations or more & submit feedback
- Sign the volunteer confidentiality form
