Purpose of the Business Champions Program
The Business Champions program exists to strengthen Fort Worth's economic vitality by creating a collaborative network of trained volunteers who engage directly with local businesses. Through meaningful conversations, the program collects critical data on business retention, expansion, and climate. This information guides the Chamber’s strategic priorities, informs community and government leaders, and ensures that the needs of Fort Worth businesses are met with timely support, resources, and opportunities for growth.

As a Business Champion, I pledge to uphold the following core values:
- Integrity — Uphold the highest standards of honesty, confidentiality, and professionalism in every business interaction, ensuring that trust is at the foundation of every conversation.
- Service — Prioritize the needs and interests of Fort Worth’s business community, acting as dedicated stewards of information that drives meaningful change and fosters economic growth.
- Objectivity — Approach each conversation with impartiality and fairness, ensuring that data collection remains focused on the needs of the business, free from personal or commercial influence.
- Collaboration — Foster a spirit of partnership with business owners, community leaders, and fellow volunteers, recognizing that collective efforts create stronger outcomes for all stakeholders.
- Accountability — Commit to the highest level of responsibility in data collection and reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and a commitment to the program's mission and purpose.
- Respect — Approach each business interaction with empathy and understanding, valuing the unique perspectives and challenges faced by Fort Worth’s diverse business community.
- Stewardship — Act as responsible custodians of community-driven insights, ensuring that collected data is used to support sustainable growth and strategic decision-making for Fort Worth’s economy.
Volunteer Commitment
By signing this pledge, I commit to the following responsibilities as a Business Champion:
- Role and Responsibility: I understand that my primary role is to collect business retention, expansion, and climate data from business owners throughout Fort Worth. I recognize that this information will be used to support the Chamber’s strategic priorities
and inform community and government leaders. - Prohibition on Self-Promotion: I will not use my role as a Business Champion to promote, market, or "sell" myself, my business, or any other affiliated entity to the businesses I engage with. My interactions will remain focused on gathering data and supporting the mission of the program.
- Confidentiality and Data Privacy: I will treat all information collected during business conversations as confidential. I will not share, distribute, or use the information for personal or commercial gain. I understand that all data collected is property of the Fort Worth Chamber and will be used solely to benefit the business community.
- Professionalism and Respect: I will approach all business interactions with respect, empathy, and professionalism. I will listen to the concerns and needs of business owners without bias or judgment.
- Accountability: I will report my progress and provide data in a timely, accurate, and honest manner. If I encounter any issues or have questions about my role, I will seek guidance from the Chamber’s program coordinator.
- Conflict of Interest: If I have a personal or business connection with a company I am assigned to survey, I will disclose this to the program coordinator to avoid any potential conflicts of interest. If necessary, I will recuse myself from that specific engagement.
Acknowledgment and Agreement
By signing this pledge, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to uphold the mission, core values, and commitments of the Business Champions Program. I understand that any violation of this pledge may result in my removal from the program.
