Fort Worth Chamber Empowers Manufacturing Industry For Economic Growth

June 22, 2023

The Fort Worth Chamber (FWC) is actively engaged in business retention and expansion efforts, more recently, with a focus on the manufacturing industry. In its business retention and expansion (BRE) efforts, the Fort Worth Chamber conducted comprehensive business interviews and research over the last several years. Findings revealed that the manufacturing industry held the greatest potential for expansion within the region.

In response to the identified opportunity for growth, the Fort Worth Chamber formed a group of local manufacturers, aimed to bring the group together, providing a platform to collaborate, share insights, and collectively address challenges.

The group, led by Scott Lilly, President of Rev1, has proven instrumental in facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing among its members.

Netty Matthews, Vice President of Existing Business for the Fort Worth Chamber, indicated that the group was formed after receiving feedback from manufacturers in Fort Worth. “The purpose of the group is to influence public policy and regulatory matters affecting manufacturing, as well as promote the education and training of future generations of manufacturers,” said Matthews. “Through quarterly meetings, we aim to encourage the exchange of best practices and workforce development while building relationships for the benefit of the members of the group.”

The group serves as a forum for addressing the challenges faced by manufacturers in the region. By openly discussing obstacles such as supply chain disruptions, workforce shortages, and rising costs, the group enables its members to collectively find solutions and implement effective strategies.

In a recent interview with the Fort Worth Report, several of these manufacturers shared their perspectives on the challenges they face, their optimistic outlook, and the measures they are taking to navigate through uncertain times.

By fostering communication and cooperation among local manufacturers, FWC seeks to propel the industry forward and stimulate the region's overall economic prosperity.
