Fort Worth Chamber's Business Walks: Fostering Connections and Appreciation

August 9, 2023

The Chamber is stepping out of the office and into the community with business walks.

In today's tech-driven world, the Fort Worth Chamber has discovered a unique way to connect with local businesses on a personal level through their business walks.

During these walks, Chamber representatives engage in face-to-face conversations with business owners, gaining insights into current business challenges and trends. This valuable information informs the Chamber's strategies and initiatives, tailoring its support to serve the community best.

“The business walks allow us to meet business leaders who may not already be connected with the chamber," said Mike Coffey, President of Imperative Information Group and member of FWC's South Area Board. "We're learning about their businesses, the challenges they face, and hopefully connecting them to resources that make their business lives easier.”

The business walks are not only about gathering information; they are also a gesture of appreciation for hardworking entrepreneurs and a chance to foster stronger relationships between the Chamber and local businesses. The visits create a supportive network where businesses can seek assistance and guidance.

“With a constantly growing city, it's important now more than ever that we pour back into the communities and local businesses that serve our needs every day.” said Alyssa Al Sabi, Vice President, Commercial Lender for R Bank, “The business walk was such a great reminder of how crucial staying involved and connected is, and how it can have such a heavy impact. Getting to have conversations with local business owners who play such massive roles in our Fort Worth community was touching and reminded me of just how much we all have in common. I can't wait to continue participating!”

Volunteers often uncover hidden gems and success stories within the community, which the Chamber celebrates and shares, promoting local businesses.

The FWC's business walks represent a meaningful effort to establish connections with the backbone of the local economy – the businesses and their owners. These interactions demonstrate the Chamber's commitment to supporting and uplifting the community, making the business walks a powerful testament to the importance of human connection in nurturing a thriving business community.
