ICYMI: Policy Pulse - Unpacking the 2024 Election

November 20, 2024

November 19, 2024

With having near certainty on all outcomes from the November 5th election, there was much to dissect at the recent Policy Pulse event held by the Fort Worth Chamber where experts shared their takeaways from the 2024 election from a federal, state, and local perspective.

The conversation covered the outcome of elections for Tarrant County and answered why some races turned out the way they did using current data and historical analysis. Importantly, we heard the perspectives on where experts believe political parties are headed and what that may mean for Tarrant County.

At the state level, the Speaker’s race is heating up with several contenders competing for Dade Phelan’s position. This race will be one to watch as we near the start of the State’s 89th Legislative Session, as it will influence the tone of policy decisions.

Lastly, despite the electoral vote map, the Presidential race was closer than you may think and came down to a handful of voters in swing states, according to the panelists.

The Fort Worth Chamber will continue to keep a pulse on the policy that affects the business community in the new political landscape following the 2024 election.

Special thanks to our moderator, Lane Borello with presenting sponsor GM Financial, and panelists Bryan Eppstein, Matt Angle, and Kasey Pipes, for participating in the Fort Worth Chamber’s Policy Pulse.
