Recovery Resource Council: 25 Years of Partnership, 80 Years of Impact
February 18, 2026
This February, Recovery Resource Council is proud to celebrate 25 years as a member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce—a milestone that reflects not only its longevity as an organization, but its deep commitment to the Fort Worth community and the partnerships that help make its work possible.
Founded in Dallas in 1946 and Fort Worth in 1954, Recovery Resource Council has spent the last 80 years responding to the evolving needs of the community. What began as education around alcoholism has grown into a comprehensive nonprofit organization providing prevention, treatment, recovery support, mental health services, housing assistance, and veteran-focused programs. Today, the Council serves tens of thousands of individuals and families each year across North Texas, West Texas, and the Panhandle, helping people access support when they need it most.
Recovery Resource Council’s relationship with the Fort Worth Chamber has been an important part of that journey for the past quarter of the century. Chamber membership has provided connections to a network of business and civic leaders who share a commitment to a strong, healthy, and thriving Fort Worth. Through advocacy, collaboration, and visibility within the business community, the Chamber has helped amplify the Council’s mission and strengthen its ability to serve.
“As Recovery Resource Council celebrates its 80th anniversary and marks 25 years as a member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, it is clear that this partnership has created a powerful synergy—one that has fueled the Council’s growth while strengthening our connection to the continued growth of the City of Fort Worth,” said Eric Niedermayer, Chief Executive Officer. “True partnerships build meaningful relationships that educate and inspire, and I am proud of the shared legacy between Recovery Resource Council and the Fort Worth Chamber.”
As a nonprofit rooted in Fort Worth, Recovery Resource Council understands that community well-being and economic vitality go hand in hand. When individuals have access to recovery, mental health care, and stable housing, families are stronger, workplaces are healthier, and communities are more resilient. Through its involvement with the Chamber, the Council aligns with business and civic leaders who recognize that investing in people is essential to Fort Worth’s long-term success.
In 2026, Recovery Resource Council will also mark a major milestone with the 38th Annual Clifton Morris & Jim Bradshaw Memorial Stars in Recovery Luncheon, one of Fort Worth’s most enduring community events. Since 1989, Stars in Recovery has brought together business leaders, philanthropists, and community members to raise awareness and critical funding for recovery services, while featuring powerful stories of resilience and hope shared by nationally recognized speakers. The luncheon honors the legacy of Clifton Morris and Jim Bradshaw—two community leaders whose commitment to recovery and service continues to inspire the event’s mission. Over nearly four decades, Stars in Recovery has grown into a signature gathering that reflects Fort Worth’s compassion, generosity, and belief in second chances.
This year, Recovery Resource Council is honored to welcome four-time World Series champion and MLB legend Darryl Strawberry as keynote speaker, sharing his journey through substance use, faith, and recovery. Strawberry’s powerful story reflects the hope, resilience, and support that define the Council’s work. Learn more about the event at recoverycouncil.org/stars2026.
As Recovery Resource Council looks ahead to the future, its work remains guided by the same principle that shaped our founding 80 years ago: that education, compassion, and connection can change lives. The Council’s partnership with the Fort Worth Chamber strengthens that work by bringing together nonprofits, businesses, and civic leaders around shared solutions to the community’s most pressing challenges.
Recovery Resource Council is grateful for 25 years of Chamber membership and for the relationships built along the way. Together, they are not only honoring the past—they are shaping a healthier, more hopeful future for Fort Worth.
