Balcom Agency Celebrates 30 Years of Building Brands as Chamber Member

September 2, 2026

Balcom Agency has been a member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce almost as long as it has been in business. Founded in 1993, Balcom celebrated its 30-year anniversary in 2023 and now celebrates its 30-year Chamber membership in 2026. It’s a tight-knit relationship partly because of what the two have in common: decades of work building up other businesses in our community.

While the full-service advertising agency has worked for brands all over the country, its roots have always been in Greater Fort Worth and Texas, working on strategy, creative, and media for many of the city’s most iconic brands, including Alcon, Cook Children’s Health Care System, Justin Boots, Mrs. Baird’s, Mrs. Renfro’s salsa, TCU Neeley School of Business, and Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co. The agency has also consistently invested in local nonprofits, including the Fort Worth Chamber itself, as well as the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival, the Fort Worth Stockyards Foundation, the Kimbell Art Museum, Lena Pope, The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and more.

Balcom’s minds have been behind:

● An innovative 2011 Justin Boots campaign for the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) that showcased fan tweets on digital billboards in real time.

● Iconic anniversary campaigns for Tony Lama Boots’ 100th anniversary and Justin Boots’ 125th.

● Websites for The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Stockyards.

● Rebrands for the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival and the Lone Star Film Festival.

● The newer Mrs. Renfro’s factory mural on Stella Street.

● The current “It’s your funeral. Plan it your way.” campaign for Greenwood Memorial Cemetery.

● The ACH Child and Family Services campaign featuring intense watercolor illustrations and animations—developed by Balcom’s in-house artists, with the help of a few advanced AI tools to make the look possible on a nonprofit budget.

At the beginning of 2026, Balcom took home Best of Show at the local American Advertising Awards for its work with regional dairy council Dairy MAX, and will host next year’s gala.

Balcom’s team has always been heavily involved in the community beyond paid work, as well. Founder and CEO Stuart Balcom has been named one of Fort Worth’s most influential people by Fort Worth Inc. magazine nine times from 2018 to 2026, and the agency president, Ashley Freer, seven times from 2020 to 2026. Across the Balcom team biographies, you’ll also find volunteer leaders of SteerFW, the Junior League of Fort Worth, the Greater Fort Worth Chapter of PRSA, and AAF-Fort Worth, plus involvement across local boards, churches, and more.

Freer has been a Fort Worth Chamber board member since 2025.

“Business is not just about transactions but about community,” Freer said. “We work hard at Balcom because we’re fueled by the knowledge that our work makes a difference and lifts others up. That’s a big part of our mission.”

Balcom’s mission, verbatim: “With everything in our power, we do the unignorable—work that makes us proud, work that makes a difference, and work that makes our clients successful.”

That mission shares the sentiment of the Chamber’s mission, supporting greater economic prosperity for all. It’s why Balcom is proud to continue partnering with the Chamber and building iconic brands in one of the country’s fastest-growing cities.
