Building Partnerships Through Workforce Development

August 13, 2025

Talent and workforce remain key areas of focus for the FWC. At a recent North Area Council networking event and school supply drive hosted by Texas AirSystems, we learned that the company has created its own university.

Texas AirSystems University (TASU) was born from the company’s commitment to creating and providing solutions that help customers succeed—continuing its pursuit of Building Partnerships®. The goal is to inspire customers to manage and maintain purchased products to achieve maximum efficiency and extend the life of their investment.

From a Small Initiative to National Recognition

What began in 2011 as a small effort to empower the company’s customers has evolved into a highly sought-after technical training program recognized nationwide within the commercial HVAC industry. TASU is on track to train more than 1,000 students by the end of 2025, and with the addition of a new training facility in Fort Worth, that number is set to grow even further.

Hands-On, Industry-Relevant Training

Texas AirSystems University offers technical training classes focused on the products, tools, and systems most commonly used in the industry. While some sessions are product-specific, all incorporate practical commercial HVAC knowledge that benefits both newcomers and experienced technicians.

Each class includes a lecture portion as well as hands-on training with demo units, control boards, tools, and more. All training materials are provided and certificates are issued upon completion.

Adapting to an Evolving Industry

As the HVAC industry evolves, so does TASU. Trainers are dedicated lifelong learners, investing in their own professional development through manufacturer visits, webinars, beta testing new products, and keeping pace with ASHRAE updates.

They continuously refine their curriculum, actively seeking feedback to ensure every course delivers the highest value to the commercial HVAC technician community.
