Carter Industrial Task Force Holds First Official Meeting, Launches Business Survey

April 23, 2026

Momentum is building around the Carter Industrial Park Task Force. During the course of three separate meetings, employers, developers, and economic development partners gathered for a wide-ranging discussion on the strengths and shared challenges shaping one of Fort Worth's most active industrial corridors.

The meetings reinforced what the Chamber has heard consistently from businesses in the area: Carter Industrial Park has real, tangible strengths. Companies in the park continue to report strong workforce availability, the ability to hire and upskill quickly, and a diverse industry mix that reduces direct competition for talent across the corridor. The City’s Development Services Department’s collaborative approach to development was also highlighted as a meaningful differentiator, with several companies citing recent expansions that moved efficiently from concept to completion.

At the same time, the task force provided an open forum to surface the kinds of shared operational challenges that no single company can solve in isolation—from infrastructure and transportation to broader business environment concerns. The group is focused on identifying where coordinated action and close partnership with city and regional stakeholders can move the needle most and build the relationships necessary to make that happen.

One of the most tangible next steps coming out of the meetings is the development of a targeted survey for businesses operating in Carter Industrial Park. Building off the existing survey the Chamber’s Business Advocacy team uses across the city, the survey will go deeper than general business climate feedback. It will continue to capture top challenges and future concerns, but also inquire about key operational details such as workforce size, whether they operate shift-based schedules, and the number of employees in each shift—information that is critical to understanding the cumulative impact businesses have on shared infrastructure and identifying where coordinated solutions, like staggered shift times or transit improvements, could make a meaningful difference.

The task force will meet monthly, with plans to include transit and public safety representatives, as well as additional companies in the park. If your company operates in Carter Industrial Park and wishes to engage with the task force, reach out to Henri Nilsen to get connected.
