Fort Worth Chamber and Workforce Solutions Collaborate to Empower Students for College and Careers

With career readiness ranking as a top concern for employers, especially among K-12 students, the Fort Worth Chamber and Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County have joined forces to present valuable information to T3 (Tarrant To and Through) counselors. The collaborative effort aims to equip counselors with insights on college and career opportunities, enabling them to guide students and parents through their academic and vocational journeys.

When T3 approached the Fort Worth Chamber (FWC) in search of a professional training session tailored for its counselors, the Chamber promptly identified Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County as the ideal collaborator. With its core mission to ensure the successful delivery of innovative workforce solutions and creative economic, educational, and developmental opportunities that fully engage all employers and career seekers, Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County proved to be an excellent partner for the endeavor.

The Chamber recognized this as an opportunity to build upon its collaborative effort from the previous year, which aimed to better inform Fort Worth ISD middle and high school counselors about career paths and opportunities. The presentation to the T3 counselors included a comprehensive range of information, encompassing international, national, and local insights on growth industries, the potential impact of artificial intelligence on certain jobs, and information about high-demand careers for the upcoming years. This information will hopefully allow counselors to help students make informed decisions about their academic and vocational paths, ensuring they align with future job market demands.

The initiative goes beyond just a one-time presentation; the Fort Worth Chamber and Workforce Solutions are committed to fostering an ongoing partnership. They intend to continually work together to devise innovative ways of disseminating valuable information to educational institutions across Tarrant County. The ultimate goal is to align the aspirations of the student population with the needs of the evolving job market.
