Pulliam Pools: A Fort Worth Legacy Over 110 Years in the Making

December 9, 2025

More than a century ago, in 1916, two Fort Worth brothers—Theodore Creswell Pulliam and Frank “Pop” Pulliam—were busy pouring concrete vats for cattle ranchers. They didn’t build swimming pools; in fact, the idea barely existed. But one rancher changed everything when he asked if they could build a concrete pool instead.

The brothers said yes, and that simple request marked the beginning of what would become America’s oldest pool-building company—and a Fort Worth tradition that has lasted over 110 years.

As Fort Worth expanded, Pulliam Pools grew with it. Backyard by backyard, they helped shape the way local families cooled off in the Texas heat. What started as a small cement operation evolved into a respected name in outdoor living—one known for craftsmanship, reliability, and genuine local service.

Today, Pulliam is proudly recognized as both a Top 50 Pool Builder and Top 50 Service Company, recognized nationwide for its excellence. In 2025, Pulliam was recognized as a Small Business of the Year Award winner by the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce.

“Being a member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce for 40 years has significantly elevated our business. Through valuable connections with other local businesses and vital support for our Fort Worth legacy, the Chamber has played a pivotal role in our company's enhancement and growth,” stated Pulliam Pools General Manager Andrew Fluty.

Despite their long history, Pulliam Pools is anything but old-fashioned. They continue to evolve with modern design and technology, offering:

  • Custom New Pool Construction
  • Pool Renovations & Remodels
  • Weekly Cleaning & Pool Service

From first design to long-term upkeep, Pulliam handles every stage of pool ownership with the same dedication they’ve had for generations.

Families across Fort Worth know Pulliam not just as a company, but as a name passed down—neighbors recommending neighbors, parents recommending the builder their kids later call for their own homes. It’s a legacy earned through honesty, quality, and deep local roots.

After more than 110 years, Pulliam Pools isn’t just part of Fort Worth’s history—they’re part of your family’s summers. Learn more at https://www.pulliam.com/
