Supporting Blood Cancer United and Community: Elbit America’s All In

August 18, 2026

Fort Worth-based technology and defense company demonstrates a tradition of stepping up and giving back.

Fort Worth, TEXAS – Aug. 17, 2026 – For more than 26 years, Elbit America has shown what true North Texas grit looks like through its steadfast commitment to Blood Cancer United. As the company celebrates a decade as a proud Fort Worth Chamber member, its long-standing community investment reflects the very spirit the Chamber champions: leadership, engagement, and advocacy that strengthen the Fort Worth community.

For Elbit America President and CEO, Luke Savoie, fighting cancer is personal. Savoie lost his father to renal carcinoma two years ago, and that experience fuels his passion for advancing lifesaving research on the disease and patient support.

“Having that firsthand experience and seeing how (cancer) affects people of all ages and walks of life really opened my eyes to this cause and how we can play a role in giving back and rallying together to make a difference,” he said.

Savoie serves as the corporate walk chair for the 2026 Tarrant County Light the Night walk and fundraising event, bringing together thousands of participants to raise funds for vital research and patient services. Elbit America’s fundraising team participates in walks across the nation each year, coming together under the common goal of supporting families impacted by blood cancer.

Elbit America’s Fort Worth employees gathered at Trinity Park for last year’s Light the Night walk event, which raised more than $500,000.

This year, Chris Burton, a senior director for supply chain at the company, smashed local fundraising records and was named the 2026 Blood Cancer Visionary of the Year. Burton’s team, Elbit for a Cure, raised more than $162,000. That figure is the highest single-team total ever recorded in the Tarrant County campaign.

“Being part of this campaign has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my career,” Burton said. “I’m incredibly proud of our team and grateful for every person who supported this mission. Together, we are helping bring hope to families fighting blood cancer.”

Savoie, Burton, and the hundreds of local Elbit America employees will continue to raise awareness for life-saving research, critical patient financial assistance, and groundbreaking advocacy work as Blood Cancer United champions.

Team Elbit America proves that meaningful community partnership is not just good citizenship but a cornerstone of Fort Worth’s continued growth and resilience.

According to Blood Cancer United, someone in our nation is diagnosed with blood cancer every three minutes.
