The Fort Worth Chamber’s South Area Council welcomed a strong turnout of business and community leaders on March 12 at Tarrant County College’s South Campus for the latest installment of the Chamber Confidential luncheon series. The program brought together more than 100 attendees for a focused discussion on the current state and future direction of South Fort Worth’s business climate. 

The luncheon featured updates from City Council districts representing South Fort Worth, along with insights from the City’s Economic Development team and Fort Worth Police Department. Together, these perspectives provided a well-rounded view of the growth, investment, and infrastructure shaping the area today.  

A key highlight of the program was a high-level snapshot of business climate data collected by the Chamber’s Business Advocacy team over the past three years. The data reinforced a consistent theme: South Fort Worth continues to see strong industrial and manufacturing growth, but businesses are also navigating shared challenges tied to talent and infrastructure. These insights directly inform how the Chamber prioritizes support for existing employers while positioning the area for continued expansion. 

Attendees also received an update on the newly formed Carter Industrial Park Task Force, a collaborative effort bringing together major employers, developers, and infrastructure partners to proactively address challenges in one of the city’s fastest-growing industrial corridors. By bringing stakeholders together around a shared vision, the task force is focused on future-proofing Carter Industrial Park, ensuring it remains a place where existing companies can continue to grow and new businesses are drawn to invest. 

The task force was represented at the luncheon by Peter Coors on behalf of Molson Coors. Peter recently assumed the role of Plant Manager following his experience at the company’s largest brewery in Golden, Colorado. 

Megan Henderson also joined the luncheon to share updates at Near Southside Inc. as she steps into the President role following Mike Brennan. 

As the Chamber Confidential series continues, the South Area luncheon reinforced the Chamber’s commitment to delivering timely, hyper-local insights and creating a forum where business leaders can engage directly with the people and information shaping Fort Worth’s economic future. Expect invitations for the May 14th luncheon focused on North Fort Worth that will include updates from Hillwood on the introduction of SGS Studios and AllianceTexas’ economic impact on the region along with many more topics.  

Registration is open now for the next installment of the Chamber Confidential series on April 14th, where speakers will spotlight business readiness ahead of the 2026 FIFA™ World Cup, featuring a First Observer Plus™ (FOP) training led by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to help local businesses prepare for increased visitor traffic.
